The aim of this work is to restate the location of the Roman town Basilippo, mentioned as the first mansio before Hispalis on the GW«-Cordoba road, in the Antoninus' Itinerary and the Ravena's Anonymus. The review of literary sources and epigraphical documentation has been contrasted with a surface survey of the Cerro del Cincho (Carmona), the site where we propose the Basilippo's location.

Estudio de la moneda visigoda que analiza: cecas, tipología y epigrafía monetal, técnicas de fabricación y metrología; contiene las conclusiones obtenidas a raíz de los análisis metalográficos, el estudio del papel económico del tremis y la descripción del conjunto de los tesoros conocidos.

In the present article we analyze the Visigoth mints from various perspectives, starting with the
administrative organization of the Kingdom of Toledo, followed by the purely technical aspects of
these mints, the production in them and finally the function of the tremissis in this society.

Both the period fakes which were made at the time when the Visigoth coinage was in circulation and the many later imitations are analyzed. It can be observed that the period fakes are relatively few in the corpus of Visigoth coins, probably indicating that falsification of coins was not a widespread phenomenon as would be the actual manipulation of the metal for other purposes and it against the later that the laws of the time are directed. By contrast modern currency counterfeiting of Visigoth coinage are abundant and we can establish a chronological evolution, from the inventions of the eighteenth century to the latest contemporary and increasingly accurate copies.

Se analizan las reproducciones de moneda visigoda, tanto las realizadas en la época, cuando las originales aún tenían vigencia, como las de fábrica moderna y contemporánea. Se verá que las primeras no son muy abundantes en el corpus monetario visigodo, probablemente porque no debió ser una
práctica tan extendida como la manipulación física ya fuera del metal en bruto o de las mismas piezas monetarias. Hacia este último delito básicamente parecen apuntar las disposiciones legislativas del momento. Por el contrario las falsificaciones modernas de moneda visigoda son muy abundantes y en ellas es posible establecer una evolución cronológica que partiría de las invenciones del siglo XVIII a las más recientes y fieles copias contemporáneas.
